The Summit that Changes Lives

"The Summit empowered me to approach individuals with question. Summit attendees, both speakers and students alike, are willing to share experiences. It’s a place where people go to embrace potentially high-intensity interactions. The person you sit next to at lunch might want you to do graphic design for them on a startup that will change your life. In a panel you chose arbitrarily, you might end up learning about a product on shelves today that revolutionizes your academic universe... After the Summit, so many opportunities came to fruition for me. Through the Summit, I became friends with a small family honey shoppe owner who opened my eyes to the importance of bees and pollination on the world’s food system. My concentration (Organismic and Evolutionary Biology) and my summer plans (beekeeping in Kyrgyzstan) all ultimately fell into place for me because of that single interaction."

“It was exciting to give a keynote speech at the third annual Igniting Innovation Summit. Having met the initial leaders of the event two years prior at the Ashoka U Summit, I was delighted to see the event flourish at Harvard, drawing a large and diverse audience of passionate young people from across Boston and the greater Northeast. I am encouraged by the the growing cohort of college students and young professionals looking to develop careers as social entrepreneurs and take on major social issues through innovative approaches that leverage the publie, private and non-profit sectors.
